You can prompt Gemini from Google Chat, Drive, Docs, Slides, or Gmail to perform complex tasks across the entire Workspace ecosystem.
- Create Content From Anywhere: Need a presentation but you're currently in an email? Just open the Gemini side panel in Gmail and ask: "Turn this proposal into an easy-to-read slide deck for my director using @presentation as a style reference." Gemini will generate the Slides and save them directly to your Drive.
- Conduct Deep Research: You can synthesize scattered data without opening a dozen tabs. From Docs, you can ask Gemini to compare your current draft against internal files and externally published content to generate a comprehensive summary report.
- Draft and Send Emails on the Fly: Finishing up meeting notes in Google Docs? You can prompt the side panel to "Send an email to my sales team for their review," and Gemini will compose and draft it without you ever opening Gmail.
- Schedule Meetings Seamlessly: When chatting with a colleague in Google Chat, you no longer need to check your Calendar. Just ask Gemini in Chat to "Schedule some time for me to discuss next steps with the product," and it will find open times and resolve conflicts.
- Log Instant To-Dos: If a presentation in Google Slides reminds you of a task, tell the side panel: "Remind me to follow up with the Marketing team next week." Gemini will map it straight to Google Tasks.
Enterprise-Grade Security Built-In
If you're worried about an AI scheduling meetings or sending emails on your behalf, Google has included strict guardrails.
Before Gemini sends any external communication or books a calendar event, it presents an interactive preview card. You maintain total control to review, edit, and confirm the action before it executes.Your Workspace data is not reviewed by humans or used to train Gemini models.
In addition, Gemini respects your existing access permissions. If you don't have access to a specific document, Gemini can't access it either.
Which Google Workspace Editions Have it Enabled?
This feature is already available to users with the following plans (note that usage limits apply, and it is currently supported in English only):
- Workspace: Business (Standard/Plus) and Enterprise (Standard/Plus)
- Consumer: Google AI Pro (excluding scheduling) and Google AI Ultra
- Add-ons: Google AI Pro for Education and AI Expanded Access
- Other Editions: Frontline Plus (Scheduling functionality only)
